My friend Sassy has tagged me with a rather unique meme, it’s different if nothing else.   The meme PhotoShow:100 meters is pretty simple.  Take photo’s of what you see 100 meters from your home.  We all know how much I really love doing meme’s and this one will give you a glimpse of just how truly out in the boonies we are.

The rules are fairly simple:

  1. Take photo’s up to 100 meters (328 feet for all of us non metric American’s).
  2. Add your name to the original list linking to the post you’ve created.
  3. Tag as many friends as you like.

Once you’re done, add your name to the list:

First up we have a view from my front door.  You wouldn’t see much if I hadn’t used the zoom feature of my camera.  That house is across the highway and you get a better sense of just how far away it is in the next picture.

Next we have a picture of the road from the main highway leading up to our driveway.  I’m standing in the entrance to our driveway.  The road is about 450 feet from our drive to the highway.

Next up we have a picture of our house from the same spot in the driveway.  Yes the house needs painted, I’ve tried to talk the last two owners into buying paint and I would paint it.  It’s about 150 feet from the spot I am standing to the front door.  Oh, and I mowed the yard the day after I took this picture.  And no, your eyes aren’t playing tricks on you, nor am I tilting the camera.  The house is level and the yard is that sloped.  There isn’t a level spot in our yard because the house was built on a hillside.

Still standing in the driveway and looking to the right, this is what I see.  Our landlords cabinet shop and the neighbor across the street (same house through the tree’s in the first picture.

This is the view out my bathroom window.  The back side of the cabinet shop and what is left of the go kart race track that Grandpa Keith had when we owned the place.

Back in the driveway again.  This is the view to the left.  This is where our landlord lives (the white house) and the brown trailer is their other rental unit.  I so wanted to move into the trailer before they rented it out because it has real heat and two bathrooms.  They are our closest neighbors.  You can see the path through the field that opens to the road in front of our driveway.  The road goes on up around the back of our house and leads to the cabinet shop.

And last but not least we have a view from the backyard out by the pool.  Yes, the ground is still that sloped.  See why Hubby had such a hard job leveling out the ground for the pool.  Which incidentally, he’ll be doing again next spring.

That concludes today’s pictorial tour.  Thanks for sticking around to the end, believe it or not but it took four hours to get this done because my blog was mad at me and would only let me up load one picture at a time and on dial-up that takes a while.

Now to tag some of my loyal readers.  Let’s just leave it this way.  If you want to do it, consider yourself tagged and I hope you’ll do it and let me know about it.  It was a lot of fun even if it did take me awhile to do it.
